Use GetCalendario with a Greenlight Family Hub calendar

Updated 11 October 2026

The Greenlight Family Hub on the kitchen wall, and the Calendar in the Greenlight app, only show the calendars you connect to them. If one parent lives in Outlook for work, the other in Google, and school sends its own calendar, you end up connecting accounts one by one, and the Hub still shows a partial picture.

GetCalendario doesn't connect to Greenlight directly. It doesn't need to: Greenlight syncs with Google and Outlook calendars both ways, and GetCalendario connects that same calendar to everything else. One calendar sits in the middle.

Everyone's calendars → GetCalendario → a "Family" calendar ↔ Greenlight

Set it up

  1. Make a calendar for the family, for example Family (Greenlight), in Google Calendar or Outlook. It's best to use a new calendar rather than anyone's personal one, so you decide exactly what goes on the Hub.
  2. Show it in Greenlight. On the Family Hub (or in the Greenlight app's Calendar), connect the Google or Microsoft account that owns that calendar and turn the calendar on. (Greenlight's own help covers these steps; the Hub asks for its admin PIN.)
    • Connect the account itself, not a Webcal link. A Webcal link only shows events; it can't take events back from the Hub.
  3. Feed it from GetCalendario. Make a connection from each calendar you want on the Hub into Family (Greenlight): a parent's Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar, the other parent's Google calendar, a school feed, a teenager's calendar.

On Home, each connection shows which calendar it copies from and to. Here a work Outlook calendar feeds a Google Family calendar:

A connection on Home copying a work Outlook calendar named Calendar into a Google calendar named Family, marked Syncing, with its status and sync range

Within a few minutes, everything flows onto the Hub.

Events added on the Hub or in the Greenlight app

The Family Hub has no calendar of its own: every event added on it is saved to one of the calendars you connected. So when you add an event on the Hub or in the Greenlight app:

  • Choose Family (Greenlight) as its calendar if Greenlight offers more than one.

From there, GetCalendario can send it on. Add a connection Family (Greenlight) → each person's own calendar, and the soccer practice someone tapped in at breakfast shows up on their phone and their work calendar.

To send only some events to each person, use a rule on that connection. For example: if the title contains "Dad:", send it to Dad's Outlook calendar. See how to send certain events to a different calendar.

Good to know

  • How fast: Greenlight decides how quickly its changes reach Google or Outlook. If an event added elsewhere hasn't appeared on the Hub yet, Greenlight has a manual sync button in its calendar settings. Once an event is on Google or Outlook, GetCalendario picks it up like any other change.
  • Two directions, no echoes: a calendar can feed Family (Greenlight) and also receive from it. GetCalendario recognizes its own copies and doesn't send them back around. See how to set up two-way calendar sync.
  • Use Google or Outlook for the middle calendar, not iCloud. Greenlight can connect iCloud, but GetCalendario can't send events into an Apple calendar yet. An Apple (iCloud) calendar can still feed Family (Greenlight).
  • If everyone already uses the same Google account, you may not need GetCalendario at all: connect that one calendar to Greenlight. GetCalendario is for families spread across Google, Outlook, Apple and school feeds, or who want to choose what each person's calendar shares.
  • Your Greenlight login stays with Greenlight. GetCalendario never asks for it; it only connects to your Google or Microsoft calendar.
